James Edward Harbeson

James Edward Harbeson, 83, of Memphis, passed away peacefully at 10:50 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Kindred Hospital at Jewish.

Born November 13, 1930 in Cordon, Indiana, he was the son of Roy R. and Ivadell King.

He married Martha Lee (James) Harbeson on April 15, 1948 who passed away on November 30, 2011.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and retired as a forklift driver at International Harvester in April of 1985.  James enjoyed working on cars and mowing grass.

Other survivors include, 6 children, Suzanne Meredith of Memphis, Anthony “Tony” (Sandy) Harbeson of Underwood, Sandy (Jim) Trout of White House, Tennessee, Michael R. “Mike” (Ann) Harbeson of Memphis, Roger (Pam) Harbeson of Memphis, Thomas Harbeson of Clarksville, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.

A son, James E. Harbeson Jr., 2 brothers, preceded him in death, Roy J. & Ronald D. Harbeson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 20, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Steve Schaftlein officiating with burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville and after 9:00 AM on Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Memorial donations may be given to his church, American Cancer Society, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery c/o Adams Funeral Home, 209 S. Ferguson Street, Henryville, Indiana 47126.

Ernie Lester Everitt

Ernie Lester Everitt, 69, a resident of Indianapolis, IN, passed into eternal life on May 12, 2013.

Born December 29, 1943 in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of Lester and Dorothy Everitt who are both deceased.

He retired from Rauch Workshop in New Albany, Indiana and was a member of Vienna Methodist Church.

Ernie was a generous, loving person who protected and uplifted not only his family, but whoever he came in contact with.

Survivors include, his sisters, Margie Dunlevy, Sheryl Everitt, Donna Everitt, and his dearest friend, Betty.

Ernie was preceded in death by his loving twin sister, Norma , January 9, 2002.

Funeral services will be private with burial to follow at Everitt Cemetery in Scottsburg, IN.

Arnold Ray Roberts

Arnold Ray Roberts, 73, of Underwood, passed away at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 29,2013 at his home.

Born December 23, 1939 in Wise County, Virginia, he was the son of late Lloyd and Florence (Brown) Roberts.

Arnold was a Scottsburg High School graduate.  He was a retired Naval Officer from the United States Navy after 20 years of service as a Hospital Corpsman, Master Chief and then retired from Entergy Nuclear Plant in 1996.

He moved back to Underwood on his parents home place in 1996.

Survivors include his siblings, three sisters, Thelma (Forest) “Junie” Hall of Underwood, Refa (Donald) Rose of Underwood, Ada (Charlie) Goode of Lexington, IN, a brother, Gary Roberts of Underwood, 8 nephews, Mike, John, Jeff, Ricky, Wade, Danny, Clint, Jim, 6 nieces, Theresa, Martha, Cari, Kelly, Sandra, & Ebbie.

He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jerry, Chessor, Raleigh and Benjamin Roberts.

The family has entrusted Adams Funeral Home & Crematory with cremation services.  Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
